The total? $47,832 in 90 days. But here’s what nobody tells you — only 2 of the 5 streams were profitable. The other 3 nearly broke me.
The 5 AI Income Streams I Tested

Stream 1: AI Coding Services on Upwork — $28,400
This was the clear winner. I used Cursor + Claude API to deliver full-stack projects at 3x speed. My hourly rate went from $75 to $200 because I could ship in days what used to take weeks.
Key insight: Clients don’t care if you use AI. They care about speed and quality. I was transparent about my AI-assisted workflow and it actually increased my close rate.
Tools used: Cursor ($20/mo), Claude API (~$150/mo), GitHub Copilot ($19/mo)
Total cost: $567 over 90 days
Net profit: $27,833
Stream 2: AI Content Agency — $14,200
I built a small content agency using Claude for writing, Midjourney for images, and ElevenLabs for voiceovers. Three clients paying $3,000-5,000/month each.
The secret? I positioned myself as an “AI-native content studio” rather than a freelance writer. Completely different pricing psychology.
Tools used: Claude Pro ($20/mo), Midjourney ($30/mo), ElevenLabs ($22/mo), Canva Pro ($13/mo)
Total cost: $255 over 90 days
Net profit: $13,945
Stream 3: AI Course Sales — $3,800
I created a course on “AI for Freelancers” using my own experience. Revenue was decent but acquisition cost was high. Facebook ads ate most of the margin.
Total ad spend: $2,100
Net profit: $1,700
Stream 4: AI-Generated Print on Demand — $1,200
Used Midjourney to generate designs for Redbubble and Etsy. Revenue trickled in but was painfully slow. Not worth the time investment unless you’re willing to wait 6+ months.
Net profit: $890
Stream 5: AI Trading Bot — -$568
Built a crypto trading bot using GPT-4 for sentiment analysis. Lost money. The AI was confident and wrong — a dangerous combination in trading.
Net loss: -$568
The Real Lesson After 90 Days
The highest-paying AI income streams are services, not products. Specifically:
- AI-assisted coding services: $150-300/hr is normal now
- AI content agencies: Position as a studio, not a freelancer
- Everything else is secondary until you’re making $10K+/month from services
